Today was the mid-point of the camp week. The students have done so well in the classes and activities that it was time to reward them with a special outing. So shortly after arriving at the church this morning we all piled into a school bus and headed to a place called Arbraska.

When we arrived we found ourselves looking to the trees. Our day would be spent at a high ropes course. The students were excited to get their harnesses on and get climbing. All of us (yes all of us) climbed rope ladders, shuffled across steel cables, and zipped down zip lines. Although very challenging, the afternoon was well spent.

Tomorrow it's back to the church for 'Camp Olympics' and learning English with the help of Orville and Wilbur Wright.

This morning we are getting ourselves ready for our second day of the English camp here in Montreal. Now that we know what to expect we are even more eager to get back with the students.

The day began with students arriving and registering for camp. As they came in, one by one we brought the students through an assessment test. Although their English level varied, we who are non-French speakers were very impressed with how well these boys and girls could speak and write English.

Students can't stay in the class room all day long so we made sure to include plenty of fun games and activities for the kids. Our game team introduced the campers to 'Capture the Flag', a favorite camp game in the US. We are fortunate to have a very nice park just minutes away from the church where the camp is hosted.

Lunch was provided by our team of chefs and the students refueled for their day. We enjoyed being able to engage the students in conversation as we ate together. As some on our team have said, it is amazing to see how relationship are beginning to form right away between members of our team and the campers.

We wouldn't say that the camp was easy, but everyone seemed to agree that actually putting our plans into practice melted away the stress very quickly. Sure we anticipate challenges, but we also anticipate great things as we go and serve these children today at the camp.

Just a quick note to say that all of us arrived safely in Montreal. Our ground team made it with only a couple minor hiccups and the rest of us made it without trouble via the air. We were met at the airport and made our way to the Pinney's home, our home away from home for the week.

The day starts early tomorrow. We will miss everyone back at Cornerstone tomorrow morning but are excited to join our friends here for worship. We are expecting a full day ahead of us.

It's late here so we will share more tomorrow. Know that we made it safe and are ready to get to work.
